Eligibility

The Emperor's Cup All Japan Football Championship, sponsored by the Japan Football Association (JFA), is a very prestigious tournament in the Japanese football world, even though it is a team cup tournament. The Emperor's Cup has a much longer history than the J.League, and amateur clubs can also participate. As it is a one-off match, it is a thrilling and very interesting tournament where upsets are likely to occur.
